Authorities in the semiautonomous region of Puntland have donated 100 vials of COVID-19 vaccine to local journalists.
Puntland’s Ministry of Health received a portion of the 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier this week.
On March 17, it then distributed several of the doses to different parts of the country.
Health officials in Garowe then donated 100 of the doses to journalists.
Puntland Media Guild then issued a statement expressing gratitude to the government for prioritizing journalists with other frontline workers.
Mohamed Dahir Warsame, the Chaiperson of the media Association of Puntland (MAP), led his colleagues in thanking the government for this donation.
Journalists have not stopped working despite the growing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
