Reports from Garowe indicate that Puntland has confirmed five new COVID-19 cases. Officials say the confirmed cases are from Puntland’s acquisition of COVID-19 lab testing equipment.
According to local health officials, Puntland began relying on the equipment yesterday.
The state’s Ministry of Health issued this report after confirming that it was had received a state-of-the-art machine to test locals for COVID-19.
On Saturday, Somalia announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases had risen to 390 while deaths related to the virulent disease have increased to 18.
Additionally, several patients have recovered from the disease, which has rocked the world and messed with the health systems of many nations.
