The government of Puntland has demanded a seat in the discussions currently going on in Djibouti between Somalia and Somaliland.
Puntland authorities insist that the discussions would be incomplete without their participation since they share a border with Somaliland.
Furthermore, authorities say that the presence of Puntland politicians from regions such as Eyn, Sool, and Sanaag in the talks is essential for achieving positive and sincere unity.
Puntland and other semi-autonomous regions in Somalia that make up the Federal Member States (FMS) do not enjoy the best of relations with Mogadishu.
