Puntland administration, under the leadership of President Said Abdullahi Deni, has announced plans to enforce a curfew in the state to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Consequently, the state has stated that it will deploy security forces in different parts of the region to ensure that locals adhere to the new guidelines.
Police have restricted the movement of people around the state. Security forces say the move is aimed at blocking Coronavirus from spreading all over the state.
The news comes hot on the heels of reports that the Horn of Africa nation has confirmed its fifth positive COVID-19 case.
According to authorities, the curfew will remain in place for two weeks.
Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has instituted several measures that include cancelling all domestic and international flights, and closing all educational facilities indefinitely.
