The Puntland Maritime Forces took control of the regional parliamentary building ahead of the electoral discussions.
Discussions on the electoral crisis in the region are planned for the parliamentary building this week.
Maritime forces took charge of the building, which is in Garowe, on Sunday night.
Speaking to the media, sources indicated that the action had the blessings of the regional President Said Abdullahi Deni.
Deni’s term ends in January 2024 when the region is scheduled to hold presidential polls.
