The regional state of Puntland has launched investigations into the assassination claims by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Abdisaid Muse Ali, Somalia’s foreign affairs minister, claimed that he was the target of an assassination attempt.
At the time, Ali was at the house of Yasin Abdisamad, a renowned traditional elder.
Puntland’s Vice President Ahmed Karaash announced the formation of a committee to investigate the incident.
The minister was at Abdisamad’s house with his family for Iftar on the evening of April 21.
One government soldier lost his life in the Thursday clashes.
Many other people were injured as clashes broke out.
