Puntland Launches Stabilization Projects Following Liberation of Key Villages

Qandala, Puntland – Following successful military operations to liberate villages in the Qandala, Ufeyn, and Iskushuban districts, the Puntland State of Somalia has commenced a series of coordinated stabilization and development initiatives aimed at restoring essential services and fostering long-term recovery in the affected areas.

The stabilization plan includes the rehabilitation of critical water resources, the restoration of local health services, and the revitalization of agriculture to improve food security and livelihoods. In addition, Puntland authorities have outlined a broader development strategy that encompasses infrastructure improvement, community engagement, and the strengthening of local governance.

Officials emphasized that these efforts are designed to secure recent security gains and provide communities with tangible peace dividends. “Our goal is to not only bring security but also to create lasting development and self-reliance for our people,” said a Puntland government spokesperson.

Local residents have expressed cautious optimism about the changes. Many say the return of health services and clean water is vital after years of neglect due to insecurity and limited access.

This move is part of Puntland’s broader approach to post-conflict recovery, aiming to consolidate stability in areas previously under the threat of militant groups and to pave the way for sustainable development across the region.
