President Said Abdullahi Deni met with officials from the Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) on September 18.
During the meeting, which representatives of civil society organizations also attended, the discussions mostly centered around the upcoming local council elections.
Puntland has already conducted one-person-one-vote (1P1V) elections in the three districts of Eyl, Ufeyn, and Qardho.
On Sunday, Deni and the representatives of TPEC as well as civil society discussed elections in the remaining districts.
They all agreed that 1P1V polls would take place in the remaining areas.
Puntland won wide acclaim for conducting the 1P1V polls, which were the first in the entire country in decades.
