Puntland Military Court Sentences a Kenyan-Born ISIS Fighter to Death

A military court in Puntland has sentenced a Kenyan-born member of Islamic State (ISIS) to death for being part of a group of extremists who carried out several assassinations in Bosaso.

Aden Mohamed, a 28-year old Kenya, has fought for ISIS in Somalia since 2017.

Mohamed was born in the town of Wajir, which is in north Kenya.

Abshir Mohamed, a 47-year old Somali man, was also sentenced to death for his activities as a member of Al-Shabaab.

A third person, Mohamud Shiniyow, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for carrying out terror attacks in various parts of the country.
