Puntland’s Interim Electoral Commission submitted the law to the cabinet for discussion and approval.
Members of the cabinet approved the law, which they cited as important for implementing democracy in the region.
The cabinet is now expected to forward the law to the regional parliament for further discussion and final approval before it takes effect.
