Police officers from Puntland arrested one of the men suspected to have hijacked a cargo ship in March this year.
Mohamed Sufi Rasas is now in police custody after his arrest on Monday.
Authorities believe that Rasas was involved in attacking and hijacking MV Abdulla, a cargo ship with Bangladeshi ownership.
At the time of the incident, the cargo ship was full of a crew of 23 people.
The pirates would later release the ship and its crew after receiving a ransom of $5 million.
