The regional state of Puntland has rejected the report by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) on the anti-Al-Shabaab operations carried out on Monday.
Earlier, the federal government informed the country that the Somali National Army (SNA) working jointly with its security partners killed over 20 Al-Shabaab militants in Puntland.
However, Puntland denied these reports.
Instead, the regional administration said that it was capable of handling any security-related operation in Puntland without seeking support from Mogadishu.
It termed the report from the federal government “false.”
The Puntland administration also reiterated its intentions to eradicate Al-Shabaab and other similar gr9ups from the region completely.
