Ibrahim Yusuf, the district commissioner of Qansahdhare Town, was killed after extremists reportedly detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the area.
Reports from the region indicate that Yusuf was traveling in his car when the IED exploded.
Yusuf was killed together with a humanitarian worker. Both of them were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
He is the Deputy District Commissioner of Qansahdhare Town.
Sanka Shirfow, the District Commissioner of the town, was also in the vehicle when the IED blasted their vehicle.
Shirfow is injured and has been rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
