Qatar Charity has launched a new health center in Somalia.
The new health center is to operate in Tarkinli, Banadir. According to reports, it will cater for the health needs of over 20,000 local residents.
Omar Mohamed Mahmoud, the Governor of Banadir Region, attended the opening ceremony.
Governor Mahmoud was in the company of dignitaries such as Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia.
Basma Amer Ahmed, Banadir’s Deputy Governor in charge of Social Affairs, was also at the event.
Others were Jihad Sheikh Hassan, an official from the Tarkinli administration, and Mohamed Mahmoud Addo, the Banadir Region health officer.
Abdel Nour Haj Ali Mursal, the Director of Qatar Charity Office in Somalia, joined the others at the health center’s opening ceremony too.
Everyone who spoke at the launching ceremony hailed the brotherly relations between Somalia and Qatar.
