A planeload of medical supplies donated by the government of Qatar landed in Egal International Airport in Hargeisa, Somaliland.
The plane carrying the supplies touched down early on Saturday.
Officials representing the government of Somaliland were at the airport to receive the donation, which is designed to help the country’s efforts towards curbing spread of COVID-19.
Somaliland has a shortage of medical equipment for testing and treating COVID-19.
Nevertheless, the situation has improved since the country received a similar donation from the government of the United Arab Emirates.
Further, the donation is quite timely, especially now that the Horn of Africa nation announced the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
