A Qatari foundation is to finance the development of hospitals in Somaliland.
The Qatar Charity Foundation (QCF), which is based in London, donated £1.5 million to fund the construction and renovation of several Somaliland hospitals.
The foundation made the donations on Thursday at a function held at King’s College, London.
QCF added that the finances would support various projects in the next two years.
Fahad Binnu Muhammad Al Ityah, the Qatari Ambassador to Britain, attended the function.
He joined Mohamed Nasir Al Thani, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QCF, at the function where the announcement was made official.
Abdi Abdillahi, the Somaliland Ambassador to the United Kingdom, also represented his country at the event.
