Hassan Hamza Asad, the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia, has visited Kismayo to initiate development projects in the region.
While in Kismayo, Ambassador Asad is also scheduled to meet with President Ahmed Madobe of the Jubbaland State.
The envoy arrived in the city on Monday. Kismayo is Somalia’s third largest city.
Mohamed Sayid Adan, the First Deputy President of Jubbaland, was on hand to receive Ambassador Asad.
As he landed, local authorities closed all the major roads and tightened security to ensure that the Ambassador’s official tour of the region proceeds smoothly.
