An organization from Qatar has drilled tens of wells in Somalia to provide residents with access to clean water.
The organization, known as Qatar Charity, launched the drilling of 27 wells in several parts of Somalia on November 1.
Mostly, the wells will benefit residents of HirShabelle region.
Tons of families, especially those from pastoralist communities, are to be the biggest beneficiaries of the wells.
Once completed, the wells will prove to be a godsend to over 13,000 families in the area.
Several senior officials from Balad district, the regional Ministry of Health and Ministry of Water, as well as Qatar Charity’s representatives in Somalia attended the launch.
