President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor of Galmudug discussed security in his regional state with Ambassador Francisco Madeira.
Ambassador Madeira is the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
He also serves as the Head of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
Qoorqoor’s meeting with Ambassador Madeira took place on March 19.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed ways of improving security in Galmudug, especially now that the region is scheduled to hold elections soon.
Like the rest of the country, Galmudug has lately witnessed a rise in the number of terror attacks launched by Al-Shabaab and militants from other militia groups.
