Qoorqoor Launches Construction of Regional Referral Hospital in Dhusamareb

On Saturday, in the capital of Galmudug State, Dhusamareb, the President of Somalia’s Galmudug State, Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor, officially laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Galgadud Regional Referral Hospital. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the region’s efforts to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and improve access to essential medical services for the local population.

The hospital, once completed, will serve as the central medical facility for Galgadud, offering advanced treatment and referral services previously unavailable in the area. The project reflects the Galmudug administration’s commitment to expanding public health services, addressing regional health disparities, and reducing dependency on distant urban centers for specialized care.

President Qoorqoor emphasized that the referral hospital will not only enhance healthcare delivery but also create job opportunities and foster medical education and training for young professionals in the region. The initiative is seen as part of the broader post-conflict recovery and development plan to restore essential services and boost public confidence in local governance.
