Queen Elizabeth honored Jane Strangways for offering exemplary services towards COVID-19 response in Somaliland.
On December 31, Queen Elizabeth honored Strangways with British Empire Medal (BEM) in recognition for her services to the people of Somaliland.
Strangways went beyond her call of duty to ensure that Somaliland’s COVID-19 response efforts bore fruit.
She is in the northern breakaway region as part of The HALO Trust, which is the largest humanitarian charity organization dedicated solely to eradicate landmines.
The HALO Trust is currently in more than 25 countries around the world.
