Radio and TV classes have been launched in Somaliland to fill the gap created when the government ordered all schools closed to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
However, the Ministry of Education and Science has partnered with UNICEF to broadcast free radio and TV lessons to allow children to continue learning.
The classes have proved popular with schoolchildren and their parents too.
Parents said they were worried their children would waste the academic year now that the government has not clarified how long learners will stay away from school.
On their part, schoolchildren are glad at the opportunity offered to them to continue with their studies even though schools are closed.
