Relief as Rains Descend on Lower Shabelle’s Janale Town

The residents of Janale town in Lower Shabelle could not help but feel relieved as the heavens opened up and rains fell.

The rains fell on Wednesday leaving much of the town covered in rainwater.

Residents were joyous considering that the town has been in the midst of one of its worst droughts just as has been the case all over Somalia.

Janale town is renowned for its large swathes of farmlands, which need plenty of water.

The agricultural rich town has witnessed a sharp reduction in its productivity as the rains have continued to fail.
