The long-awaited rains finally fell in the Bakool region on March 24.
Residents were relieved to see the rains descending after months of waiting.
The ongoing drought, which has touched almost all parts of Somalia, has been a source of unimaginable stress to the residents of the Bakool region.
Specifically, the rains were reported in Wajid district, Bakool.
The surrounding areas also experienced Thursday’s showers.
Currently, the weather in Baay and Gedo regions looks promising and cloudy, thus giving hope of a second consecutive day of rainfall.
