The remains of the Ambassador of the Arab League to Somalia, Hamud Samran Al Kuwait, have been flown back home.
Mohamed Abdilahi Salad and Ahmed Isse Awad, the ministers in charge of the transport and foreign affairs respectively, flagged off the body at the Aden Adde International Airport.
In a brief ceremony organized at the airport in Mogadishu, the ministers expressed their gratitude to the Arab League for deploying such an astute diplomat to the country.
They also expressed their condolences with the government and people of Saudi Arabia, where Al Kuwait hailed from, on the death of their beloved son.
Hamud passed away peacefully in Mogadishu on May 23, 2020 and is set to be interred back in Saudi Arabia, his home country.
