A renegade former Somali National Army (SNA) soldier has been arrested.
Reports from Mogadishu indicate that Gen. Sheegow Ahmed Ali is now behind bars after his arrest on Saturday.
His arrest follows a security operation carried out in the nation’s capital for several hours.
Gen. Sheegow was arrested together with 24 of his accomplices.
A police report also added that the former army officer was found in possession of stolen mobile phones and counterfeit currency too.
Police spokesperson Sadik Duudishe added that one security officer and two of Sheegow’s militia were killed in the operation.
Nine other people were injured.
