A renowned Somali scholar has passed away in London.
The family of Said Jama Hussein says that the prominent scholar passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 9.
Hussein had been in London receiving treatment.
According to his family and friends, he has been in a London hospital for the last two weeks receiving treatment.
Hussein is renowned for devoting his life to the development of the Somali language and culture.
He has also authored many novels in the Somali language.
