Residents of Buulo Doon Celebrate as Elite SNA Troops Eliminate Al-Shabaab Militants

The Somali National Army’s elite Danab Commandos have recently intensified operations against Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Shabelle region, particularly in areas like Buulo Doon. These efforts aim to dismantle militant hideouts, restore peace, and ensure the safety of local communities.

In a significant operation, the 7th Battalion of the April 12 Division, led by Commander Ahmed Abdi Ali (known as “Ahmed Gashaan”), targeted key areas including Bagdad, Doon, Kaharow, Jambalul, Doon Dehere, Godoofaar, Baladul-Amin, Warhaman, and Tihsil. These locations were identified as strongholds where Al-Shabaab had been harassing local communities.

The operations were met with relief and support from local residents, who have suffered from the constant threat posed by the militants. The Somali National Army has reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against militant groups across the country, aiming to build on this success and further enhance security and stability in Somalia.

These operations are part of a broader strategy by the Somali National Army to combat insurgency and stabilize the region. By targeting the hideouts and supply lines of the militants, the army aims to weaken their operational capabilities and reduce their influence in the Lower Shabelle region.

The Danab Commandos, known for their expertise in counterterrorism operations, continue to play a crucial role in these efforts. Their actions underscore the Somali government’s determination to eradicate terrorism and restore peace and stability to the nation.
