A roadside explosion in the Sariitow village area near Awdiinle town, west of Baidoa, Somalia, claimed the lives of at least 12 people and left nine others injured on Friday.
The attack targeted a pickup truck used by security forces.
Al-Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Al-Shabaab frequently carries out such attacks in Somalia, particularly targeting security personnel and civilians.
