Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held discussions with the new United States Ambassador to Somalia on increased cooperation.
The meeting between the Prime Minister and Ambassador Larry Andre took place in Mogadishu on Saturday, February 12.
During their meeting, Roble and Ambassador Andre discussed the need for strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and the US.
They also spoke about the ongoing federal parliamentary elections.
The parliamentary polls are scheduled for completion on February 25.
Other issues that appeared in their discussions included security and the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The Office of the Prime Minister issued a communiqué indicating that the US would also play an important role in addressing the devastating drought rocking Somalia.
