Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has announced that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) would accord a former Prime Minister who died this week a state burial.
Roble said this while announcing the formation of a national level committee to oversee burial arrangements for former Prime Minister Professor Ali Khalif Galaydh.
Professor Galaydh passed away on Thursday in Jigjiga, the administrative capital of Ethiopia’s Somali region.
According to reports from Jigjiga, the 70-year old Professor Galaydh died after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
Prime Minister Roble was among the hordes of Somali leaders and politicians who sent condolences to the family and friends of the former premier.
