Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble met with some regional state leaders to discuss the violent and deadly incident that took place on February 19 in Mogadishu.
On Friday last week, opposition politicians were violently and forcibly dispersed from holding a rally that was to take place at Unknown Soldier’s Monument in Mogadishu.
This week on Thursday, Roble held a meeting with the regional state leaders of Galmudug and HirShabelle to discuss the incident.
Reportedly, over 20 people were either injured or killed in last week’s incident.
Apart from discussing the February 19 incident, Roble and the regional state leaders also talked about security and the electoral impasse.
Roble expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Karie Qoorqoor of Galmudug, President Ali Guudlaawe of HirShabelle, and Mayor Omar Filish of Mogadishu.
He thanked them for attending the meeting and seeking solutions to the current political and electoral problems facing Somalia.
