Somalia would be unable to hold credible presidential and parliamentary elections without independent observers at all its polling stations.
Omar Sharmarke, a former Prime Minister of Somalia, said this on February 26.
According to the ex-Prime Minister, there is too much distrust and hostility among the political class thus making it hard for Somalia to hold credible polls.
He cited the lack of talk on the importance of international and independent electoral observers in the ongoing discussions.
Without the electoral observers at all polling stations in the nation, Sharmarke believes that manipulation of the results would be too rife.
