Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a meeting with Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke to discuss several issues, including the ongoing elections.
Sharmarke is a former Prime Minister.
The ex-Prime Minister paid Roble a courtesy call upon his return from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sharmarke said, “We are grateful for the opportunity Prime Minister Roble accorded us to discuss the current political developments in the country.”
Roble and Sharmarke met on December 6.
Sharmarke informed the public that the talks were part of ongoing meetings in Mogadishu between different stakeholders to chart a positive future for Somalia.
The meeting comes a few days after Prime Minister Roble met with members of the Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC), which brings together opposition leaders.
Sharmarke was Somalia’s Prime Minister from 2009 to 2010.
He fell out with the then President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, a move that forced him to resign from the Office of the Prime Minister.
