Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has joined Galmudug and HirShabelle states in opposing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s term extension.
Earlier this month, the House of Representatives voted to extend Farmaajo’s term in office by two more years.
Their decision followed the inability to hold parliamentary and presidential elections, which are long overdue.
On April 27, Roble shocked the nation by speaking out against Farmaajo’s term extension.
He further urged Somalis to be ready to take part in elections, which should take place as soon as possible.
There is great expectation that Farmaajo could address the nation in the next few hours on Tuesday after the Iftaar prayers.
