Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a meeting with the person he appointed to take over as the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Roble’s meeting with Lt. Maj. Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama took place on Monday, September 6.
The Prime Minister announced that Lt. Gen. Jama takes over from Fahad Yasin with immediate effect.
He relieved Yasin of his duties after the expiry of the deadline he gave the former NISA Director to explain the murder of a female agent.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Roble also called for close working relations between NISA and the Somali Police Force (SPF).
Specifically, he advised the two to collaborate with prosecutors from the military court to open investigations into the murder of Ikran Tahlil.
