A renowned Somali scholar died in Mogadishu on February 16.
Sheikh Nur Barud Gurhan passed away on Tuesday night.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble led the country in mourning the death of a person he called “the great Somali scholar.”
Sheikh Barud is scheduled to be buried on Wednesday.
Roble prayed that Allah would be merciful towards Sheikh Barud while comforting those whom the deceased left behind, especially his family and friends.
