Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has ordered the Benadir Regional Administration (BRA) to strengthen security in the region.
His order comes at a time when the region has been experiencing worsening security as Al-Shabaab increase their attacks.
On January 20, the Prime Minister encouraged the BRA leadership, under Governor Omar Filish, to improve security for all.
Specifically, he mentioned the need to sweep the streets of all landmines that extremists have planted.
He called the terrorists who plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and landmines along the streets “cowards.”
Furthermore, Roble urged members of the public to work closely with Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) agencies to improve regional security.
