Roble Pledges Fast Turnaround for Major Reforms in Somalia

Somalia’s newly endorsed Prime Minister has pledged fast turnaround for major reforms that his government embarks on from September 27.

He stepped into the Office of the Prime Minister officially on Sunday to assume his responsibilities.

However, his immediate predecessor, Hassan Ali Khaire, was conspicuously missing.

Khaire failed to show up to hand over the office formally to his successor.

Nevertheless, Roble has promised that his office has already identified specific reforms to institute in various sectors in the next four months.

He has vowed to prioritize security, especially now that Al-Shabaab seems to have increased its terror attacks around the country.

Roble has also promised to implement the newly signed elections deal between the Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States.

Gender-based violence, especially against women and children, would receive the full attention of the new Prime Minister, as he prioritized the issues too.
