Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has sacked seven members of the Federal Electoral Disputes Resolution Committee.
The Prime Minister sent the seven members of the committee packing on December 18.
While dismissing them, Prime Minister Roble stated that they had failed to uphold the independence required to perform their duties professionally and efficiently.
Prime Minister Roble also indicated that the seven commissioners had used the power and authority that their positions accord them illegally.
This move comes after the Electoral Disputes Resolution Committee made some controversial decisions this week.
The one decision that stands out is the approval of the election of Yasin Farey, the Acting Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Farey had won elections for the HOP#67 seat.
