Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has told President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo that his reign as the President of Somalia is over.
Roble stated this on December 27.
His sentiments on Farmaajo came on a day of unprecedented display of differences between the President and the Prime Minister.
Earlier on Monday, Farmaajo announced that he had stripped Roble off his executive powers that the constitution accords the Prime Minister.
However, Roble rubbished off Farmaajo’s claims.
Roble described Farmaajo as “the immediate former President.”
Prime Minister Roble continued by saying that he remains committed to fulfilling his constitutionally given mandate of conducting credible elections.
African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) soldiers later escorted Roble to his office.
