Somalia’s Minister of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Mukhtar Robow, called on citizens to reject the intimidation tactics employed by Al-Shabaab militants.
He described their methods as rudimentary and oppressive, with militants operating in forested areas, relying on basic tools like books and phones to issue threats.
Al-Shabaab militants are notorious for demanding extortion payments, using assassination threats to enforce compliance.
Robow’s statement highlights the ongoing efforts of the Somali government to empower citizens against Al-Shabaab’s coercive practices and strengthen public resilience against terrorism.
