Lower Shabelle, Somalia – The Minister of Defense, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, and Minister of Interior, Ali Yusuf Ali, jointly inaugurated the Sabiid and Anole bridge in Lower Shabelle region on Saturday following its recent reconstruction.
Attendees at the ceremony included officials from the Somali National Army (SNA), the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), and the Turkish Government. They emphasized that this infrastructure would stimulate economic growth, enhance security, and improve mobility for residents in the area.
The bridge had been destroyed by Al-Shabaab militants earlier in the year, and its reconstruction demonstrates the government’s dedication to rebuilding regional infrastructure and connectivity.
