Save the Children has supported 225 drought-stricken families in the Gedo region, Somalia with cash.
According to a report by the organization, drought has displaced more than 700 families in the region.
On December 4, the organization stated that it had availed cash support to 225 needy families in Garbaharey, which is Gedo region’s provincial capital.
This year, drought has hit tons of families hard.
There is fear that the worsening situation could create a hitherto unimaginable humanitarian crisis.
International organizations – such as the United Nations – have joined the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in calling for quick intervention.
