Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, a seasoned Somali diplomat, has been appointed as the new official spokesperson for the African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson.
This announcement was made on Thursday.
Prior to this role, Nuur served as the spokesperson for the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional organization in East Africa.
His extensive experience in diplomacy and communication is expected to bolster the AU’s engagement and outreach efforts.
Sheekh will now serve as the spokesperson of Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, who was elected the new AUC Chairperson in last month’s elections in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
