Security forces have thwarted a planned attack by Al-Shabaab militants at a training camp in Jubbaland’s Dhobley town.
The attack, which the government troops thwarted on Sunday, could have led to massive casualties on both sides.
Nevertheless, the security forces managed to inflict heavy losses on the militia.
Mohamed Abdilahi Korey, the Deputy Commander of the security forces in Jubbaland, announced that government troops killed two Al-Shabaab fighters.
There has been no report on the casualties suffered by the security forces while repulsing members of the Al-Qaeda linked terror group.
Meanwhile, the security forces have embarked on an operation in and around Dhobley Town to smoke out the insurgents who organized the attack.
