Mogadishu – Somalia’s Minister for Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, has urged citizens to acquire voter cards and take part in the upcoming one-person, one-vote election set for December 25.
The minister highlighted that this marks the first time in 57 years that Somalis can directly choose their representatives, calling it a significant advancement for the nation’s democratic progress.
He confirmed the ministry’s dedication to implementing robust security protocols to ensure the election proceeds in a peaceful, free, and transparent manner.
The minister encouraged citizens to exercise their constitutional right by voting for representatives they trust will prioritize the interests of the people and the nation’s future.
