Women Police Officers Complete 90-Day Training as Somalia’s Security Minister Closes Program

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The internal security minister of Somalia’s federal government, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, oversaw the conclusion of a specialized training program for women in the Somali Police Force (SPF) yesterday. This event signifies ongoing initiatives to boost the professional capabilities and diversity within the country’s security frameworks.

The objective of the extensive ninety-day initiative was to provide officers with sophisticated security expertise and operational understanding. The training concentrated on fundamental policing methodologies and approaches, ensuring the officers are completely prepared to address Somalia’s changing security landscape.

In his speech, Fartaag praised the crucial role of women in upholding legal order and reconstructing the nation’s security systems. He noted that incorporating well-trained female personnel is fundamental for a holistic strategy toward community protection and national development.

The minister encouraged the graduates to serve their nation and constituents with honor and commitment. He stressed the necessity of implementing both the academic knowledge and hands-on competencies gained throughout the three-month program in their regular responsibilities, thereby directly advancing the security, stability, and public service of the Somali republic.
