On Sunday, a security officer was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Puntland’s port city of Bosaso.
The identity of the slain officer was revealed as Farah Mohamed, who is affectionately known as Aynab.
Local security officers have said that the incident took place in downtown Bosaso. The gunmen then fled the scene before Puntland’s security officers arrived.
According to the police, the deceased worked in the local customs department where he was the officer in-charge.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, which is the latest in a series of violent raids by unidentified gunmen in Bosaso.
However, Al-Shabaab and other militant groups linked to ISIS have claimed some of the past attacks.
