Abdi Hashi, the Speaker of the Upper House, has been reelected one of the senators to represent Somaliland in the federal house.
Speaker Hashi won one of the six seats that were up for grabs on September 29.
He won his elections after his closest rival for the seat withdrew from the race.
Hashi’s differences with Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi M. Gulaid had forced the postponement of the elections.
He has been one of outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s fiercest critics for a long time.
